ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Anna Contangelo, of Elmwood Park, died Tuesday, Nov. 22. She was 81.
Born in Montescaglioso, Italy to Marianna and Frank Salluce, she came to the United States in 1955. She lived in Paterson for many years before settling in Elmwood Park for the past 35 years. She worked as a seamstress in numerous clothing manufacturers in Paterson and was a member of the I.L.G.W.U.
She was predeceased by her husband, Rocco.
She is survived by her children, Julia Amato and her husband, Giovanni, Marianna Matarazzo and her husband Frank and Francesca Rizzuto and her husband Joseph; grandchildren, Arianna, Elaina and Kayla Rizzuto and Anna and Nunzio Matarazzo; siblings, Maria Ditaranto, Dora Contangelo and her husband Pasquale and Rocco Salluce and his wife Rose.
There will be a funeral at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home Inc., 274 Market St., Elmwood Park followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Leo’s R.C. Church, 324 Market St., Elmwood Park. Entombment ill be in Calvary Cemetery in Paterson. Visiting will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
